An Election Day Gift For You! Free EP from Team Totoro

Our favorite Tru Skool Hip Hop duo Team Totoro are no strangers to the political game. In 2011 they released a free EP, Broken Monocles (and video), to support the Occupy Wall Street Movement.

Today, for the 2016 U.S. Presidential elections, they are releasing a new FREE EP called Democrasexxy (de·moc·ra-sex·y) available right here!

Louisville Babylon: A Misfits Tribute Album Available

We are happy to announce that as part of our partnership with the Louisville Free Public Library (LFPL) on their new free local music streaming service 'Louisville Mix' the  Louisville Is For Lovers compilation LOUISVILLE BABYLON II: A Misfits Tribute will be available at lfpl.org on October 28th just in time for Halloween!

The Louisville Babylon II compilation was originally released in October of 2007 and includes over a dozen Misfits covers by Louisville artists such as My Morning Jacket, Wax Fang, Dave Pajo, and many more!

About the Louisville Babylon Series:
The original Louisville Babylon compilation was released by Analog Distillery in 1994 and included Misfits covers from twenty Louisville bands including Rodan, Crain, Falling Forward, Sunspring, and Endpoint.  In 2007 Louisville Is For Lovers acquired permission from Analog Distillery to release the 1994 compilation (as a 13th anniversary reissue) as well as to release a contemporary follow up, Louisville Babylon II, with the next generation of Louisville groups including My Morning Jacket, Dave Pajo, Wax Fang, The Slow Break, and Ultra Pulverize.
Currently the 1994 compilation is available to stream on the Louisville Mix site and on Oct. 28th the 2007 compilation will also be available on Louisville Mix.

About the Louisville Mix partnership:
 The Louisville Free Public Library is creating a streaming collection of Louisville music online. All of the Louisville Is For Lovers Valentine's releases are available to stream at lfpl.org/music, and the entire 15 year catalogue will be available by January 20th, when the Library will release the full archive to date (with music added continuously after) including My Morning Jacket, Jim James, Wax Fang, Twin Limb, Andrew Rinehart, Team Totoro, Cheyenne Mize, 23 String Band, Mudcat Blues Band, and others.

New Public Archive streaming our entire catalog!

We are extremely excited to announce our partnership with the Louisville Free Public Library (LFPL) on their new archival program entitled Louisville Mix,  a free streaming service launched today on their Website  that will archive and stream music by Louisville bands, including the entire Louisville Is For Lovers collection!

2/5 Live Lunch on WFPK @ Noon

This Friday 2/5 at noon at WFPK studios will be a special Louisville Is For Lovers Showcase for the new LP released the same day. It will  feature Twin Limb, The Hot Wires, The Gallery Singers, Jaye Jayle, Tender Mercy, Daphne Luster, as well as special guests and will be broadcast live on 91.9FM.

Also, tonight there will be a preview listening party for the new Louisville Is For Lovers LP at Haymarket Whiskey bar. 5 advanced copies will be given away, and there will be a photo exhibit by Nik Vechery. More info on this event here. 

Valentine's Weekend Album Release Celebration!

Just announced! The Louisville Is For Lovers Valentine's Weekend celebrating the 15th anniversary of the series, as well as the release of our new compilation (featuring over 30 unreleased tracks by Louisville bands including White Reaper, Twin Limb, Quiet Hollers, Lydia Burrell, The Deloreans, and more).
On Friday Feb.12th is the Album release show featuring The Hot Wires, The Gallery Singers, The Fervor, and The Cut Family Foundation followed by a 80s/90s Dance Prom at midnight with prizes for Best Dress and Best Dressed Couple. tickets $10. 21+ 8pm.
On Sunday Feb.14th is the Louisville Is For Lovers Valentine's Brunch also at Zanzabar from 11am-2pm with an Endless Brunch, Bloody Mary Bar, Cereal Bar, and music by Daphne Luster and The Winger Brothers. tickets are $15 or 2 for $25. Tickets to both events are available here.
